#CGCecDNA has begun! And what a fitting location at the historic The Royal Society. Paul Mischel (Mischel Lab Sarafan ChEM-H) got us started with a fascinating opening plenary.

Lots of exciting findings being showcased on day 1 of #CGCecDNA Earlier we heard the first of our selected talks: from PhD students to Postdocs and Group Leaders, the science has been outstanding!

Day 2 of #CGCecDNA is underway! Organiser Mariam Jamal-Hanjani got things started by discussing tracking ecDNA in patients from early through to late-stages and the role of ecDNA in tumour evolution.

Matt Vander Heiden (MVH Lab Koch Institute at MIT) got us thinking about how changes in metabolism could regulate ecDNA formation, and how ecDNA may then impinge on metabolism to enable cancer progression #CGCecDNA

We kicked off the final day of #CGCecDNA with Ben Cravatt (Scripps Research) and innovative chemical approaches to target ecDNA in cancer.

Mariam Jamal-Hanjani and Anton Henssen led the second #CGCecDNA panel discussion: ‘From science to medicine’ with Howard Chang from Amgen 🧪🔬🧬, Zachary Hornby from Boundless Bio, Tonia Hafner from Genentech and Owen Wallace from Econic Biosciences.

Beautiful talk by James Chen on how to leverage ecDNA to activate the damage sensing ability of our immune system! This was wrap of the #CGCecDNA— stimulating discussions and such a warm, collaborative community. Grateful to be part of it! #ecDNA #CancerGrandChallenge

Zhijian (James) Chen, recently elected as a foreign member of the The Royal Society, brought the scientific programme of #CGCecDNA to a close by discussing ecDNA sensing pathways and harnessing them to target ecDNA positive cancers.
