Dick Thomas was a Welsh Rugby Union player. At the outbreak of WW1 he was a policeman. When he could he enlisted in the 16th Battalion Welsh Regiment. He was killed in action, shot through the head, in the taking of Mametz Wood on 7 July 1916. #WW1 #History #HistoryMatters

Arthur Isaac was a first class cricketer with Worcestershire CC. In WW1 Arthur was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Worcestershire Regiment. 7 July 1916 Arthur was KIA on the Somme & commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing. #WW1 #History #HistoryMatters
