The 702,250 residents of DC pay the highest federal taxes, fight in wars, and die for their country. It is long past time for us to have the same representation that Americans in every other state have. Thank you Eleanor #DCStatehood Holmes Norton for continuing to lead our fight for #DCStatehood.

Join me in cheering on our Washington Commanders in the NFL Playoffs this weekend! Let’s keep the momentum going! 🏈 #HTTC #Commanders

Detroit was 15-2 in the regular season. And the top seed. And had the bye. And is playing at home. At some point, you have to acknowledge the heater that the Commanders are on is real, and that they’re now 30 minutes away from the NFC Championship Game. On merit.

Martin Luther King Jr is not a distant figure in history. He marched on our streets & spoke on the same injustices that persist in DC today.   In honoring his legacy, we are reminded that progress is neither automatic nor inevitable & recommit ourselves to being agents of change.

Please have a meaningful Martin Luther King, Jr. Day today. King had strong DC ties. His "I Have a Dream" speech wasn't just delivered in DC, it was written a block from the Wilson Bldg, at the Willard Hotel. Pictured here is King at an August 5, 1965 rally for Home Rule for DC.

$1.1 billion in cuts would devastate DC. Congress must act to protect our communities. I joined @Fox5DC’s #OnTheHill to break down what’s at stake and what we’re doing to fight back. Watch here:

Truth. Slashing DC's medicaid rates would be incredibly harmful, would gut prevention efforts, would force families to make unacceptable choices between getting the care they need and facing the stresses of medical debt, and ultimately just lead to more health care costs.

The U.S. Dept of Education wants to make changes that would leave student loan borrowers saddled with debt and unable to pay their bills. We submitted a comment to stop ED from harming DC residents, who average about $54,945 in student loans per borrower. tzedekdc.org/s/Department-o…

If DC were a state, 700,000+ American citizens would have 2 votes in the Senate—and 17 million Americans would still have healthcare, 3 million would still have food assistance. DC’s values support these rights for all Americans. None of this should be up for debate.

In the midst of much bad news, sharing some good news. Honored for @Tzedek DC's work to be recognized by Washington Business Journal for innovative approaches to helping more people access healthcare by overcoming debt-based obstacles. Grateful to all who are helping make it happen!
