Today’s announcement should focus on increasing access to doctors, not limiting it. Ontario's Emergency Departments are there to provide care when it’s needed most, and patients should never feel discouraged from seeking help when and where they need it. #onhealth

It's time once again to remind everyone that emergency department (ED) crowding is not due to low acuity visits. ED crowding is due to hospital crowding and the inability to move admitted patients to the floors. Emergency Physicians can handle busy. It's crowding that kills.

Hallway health care and Emergency Department closures were not addressed. No patient should have to receive care in a hallway, and yet, it’s happening across Ontario. Physicians are stretched thin, and hospitals are closing services due to doctor shortages.

Northern and rural Ontario were left out. No discussion on hospital closures, doctor shortages, or the unique challenges facing the North. Patients shouldn’t have to drive hours for care. We need a real Northern health care strategy to fix these inequities.
