Everybody ‘waiting for The Leng review’ Apart from GMC ,UMAPs.org.uk and The College of Medical Associate Professionals who SHOUD be waiting for Leng, but aren’t . #waitingforLeng #kickingthecandowntheroad #patientsafety #askforadoctor

One of the most striking statistics in the 2024 The Royal College of Radiologists workforce census is that “In England in 2023/24, the number of referrals from emergency departments for CT and MRI scans rose by 13%”. 13% in a single year! How can we keep up with the such rapidly growing demand?

Anaesthetists United The Royal College of Radiologists As a fellow, I'd greatly appreciate some leadership here. Radiologists can put to bed that PAs are not educated to a level necessary to justify allowing them to request imaging. Stephen Harden Prof Amaka C Offiah

My letter to the Royal College of Physicians leadership and council regarding the recommendations against Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥 . Sharing for transparency. Note these are my personal opinions and do not represent any entity or organisation I am related to Apologies for any typos #RCPExodus

1/ Now the embargo has lifted, I’ve had time to read the The Leng review in full. While some celebrate minor cosmetic wins, I see the formal entrenchment of a parallel, underqualified medical workforce — built without medical training.

The Leng review has dodged serious qn of Cost Effectiveness. Why spend >£300 MILLION/year+ on the dependent PA/AA staff?? Prof Leng, the former head of NICE, claims she could not figure this out! I have my doubts abt that(🤔), but it shows this Review is not the end of the debate!

The Royal College of Radiologists according to your documents you don’t support ANY type of radiation requests- both ionising and non ionising . PAs have been proven to increase unnecessary referrals for imaging Please don’t allow them to do ANY requests of any kind . They are assistants

Radiology is not an appropriate specialty for a non-medically trained healthcare worker Physician’s Assistants should not be able to request any form of imaging There, fixed it for you The Royal College of Radiologists

Dr Huw The Royal College of Radiologists There are many nurses requesting XRs, and CTs are requested for anything and everything these days. How many cancers are caused each year by radiological examinations each year in the UK? Why does it matter stopping a PA from requesting? Does anyone pay attention to IRMER?

Thank you The Royal College of Radiologists for putting patient safety first . NO RADIATION REQUESTING FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS john brittenden Ahmad Barotchi ClinOncDoc Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥

Ogidi 💯 The Leng review Wes Streeting Here’s some clarity . Physician assistants are not permitted to request ANY imaging at all .

Dr Ross Nieuwoudt National Health Serf Hi Dr Ross Nieuwoudt, we do not foresee any role for PAs in Diagnostic Radiology. Please see our recent statement for more information: rcr.ac.uk/news-policy/la…
