This mystery KJ Martin trade comes down to 3 options: 1. Massive trade involving PG 2. Pair him with picks and get back a real rotation piece 3. Try to duck the tax. They shed $4.2M earlier today and are about $6.8M over. I’m hoping for #1 but all signs point to #3.

NOP will still appear over the luxury tax on most cap sheets because of Dejounte Murray's Likely Bonuses. But as he's out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, he'll end up missing on all the Bonuses, so once they're flipped to Unlikely, NOP sits $675K below the tax.

When Rob Pelinka said there's "not a lot available" in the Center market, I guess he meant unless you're trying to sell the farm and give up more than Sidy Cissoko and a couple 2nds.

When you see the situation PHX is in with limited flexibility to rebuild the roster while stuck with the worst contract in the league (Beal with a No Trade Clause and still owed $110M the next 2 years) one thing is clear... Washington's new front office led by Michael Winger

WAS added $6M in salary in 25/26 but removed over $40M off their books in 26/27 and has set themselves up to be a major player in the 2026 offseason. Washington's front-office under Michael Winger has done a very underrated job in setting themselves up for a rebuild.

A few signings that were reported tonight that we're still waiting to see how exactly they will be executed: - Capela to HOU (Likely S&T) - LaRavia to LAL (Likely S&T and save NTMLE) - LeVert to DET (Cap Space or S&T) - Looney to NOP (NTMLE or S&T)

Heading into Free Agency, we heard "Teams have leverage to low-ball players b/c nobody has cap space." Turner signing with MIL for 4yrs/$107M should serve as a reminder of why teams can't take full advantage of that "leverage". If a player has value, a market can be created.

After every Free Agency, the NBA market slightly adjusts. Some players get overpaid, some underpaid & the market can be reset. With a new perspective, how do you view what's left on these Raptors' contracts? Ingram: 3yrs / $120M Poeltl: 5yrs / $123.5M Quickley: 4yrs / $130M

Myles Turner essentially cost MIL: - $27M per year (for 4 years) - An additional $22.5M per year (for 5 years) - Damian Lillard - Pat Connaughton

Damian Lillard is likely to sign with a team this season, on a 2-year deal (even if for the Minimum), so that when he hits Free Agency in 2027 (1 year after he returns), the team he’s with has the ability to exceed the cap & resign him using Early Bird Rights (approx 2yr/$34.1M).

There’s been some speculation that LeBron could find his way to NYK. If that happens, it would be a huge step in the Rich Paul / Leon Rose relationship. Recently, an important first step was taken when NYK signed Clarkson, their first Klutch represented player since 2020!
