Doctors pay dispute is only one, though totemic & overwhelming, of many serious issues affecting working conditions & unattractiveness of the NHS to doctors. Once started listing issues to express problems doctors face: XVI Theses on UK Postgraduate Doctors’ Discontent😬

‘Dr’ Fox worked as a doctor for at most 8 years, having been born in 1961, graduating at the earliest in 1984, and becoming an MP in 1992. He now earns £87,000 as an MP and £434,800 in outside earnings and donations. Why does he expect junior doctors to settle for £15/hour?

NEW: So NHS Digital today updated quarterly pay data 👇 Been waiting on this (1) inform how I am personally voting in the referendum (2) will be used to update my pay charts (version 3 released 1/10/23- now expired) Initial thought is my opinion DDRB 23/4 was right 👎. 🧵soon!

It's fascinating how regulatory bodies sometimes fail to consider the possibility of the erosion of their authority. In the context of other regulatory issues in healthcare, I suspect these new rules will be treated with a similar level of seriousness as Liz Truss' premiership.

*Five hundred and sixty two* English pounds to renew my Royal College subscription for the upcoming year. Can any anaesthetists of Twitter convince me that this is any way good value, or should I finally cancel this? Are there any potential downsides to not being a member?

‘When you are a grown up’, putting on your ‘big girl/boy’ pants when referring to becoming more senior. Junior doctor term on its way out. Doctors are already grown up. Infantilisation in language use can be modified. Today’s thought for the day! What other phrases are similar?

Consultant BMA members: The referendum for the pay deal has reached your inboxes. In the last ballot 38% of us didn’t bother voting for something that will affect the rest of our lives. Don’t be that person. Simply search your overflowing inbox for the email circled, then

I have the v responsible task of buying a new bean-to-cup coffee machine for our anaesthetic department. Anybody got any recommendations? Criteria include: no fresh milk container (it'll end up disgusting), easy to clean, robust, makes nice coffee. #MedTwitter #CoffeeLovers

I see membership of The BMA as essential & don’t resent these subs I also think the 190,000 members won’t resent £2 of their annual fee being donated to Anaesthetists United legal case against GMC attempting to ensure proper, safe regulation of associates’ scope RT if you agree🙏
