In the wake killings at Capital Jewish Museum on 5/22, Montgomery County Department of Police increased patrols around houses of worship and other Jewish facilities. In the wake of today’s hate-based attack in Boulder, those will continue and also consider community events outside those facilities. (1/2)

Hatred & violence simply cannot be allowed to replace dialogue and we will do our best to protect residents from that happening. As noted, if you see something suspicious, please report it. If you need to report a hate/bias incident, you can do so here: montgomerycountymd.gov/mcg/report-hat…

I’ve been in regular communication with our public safety leadership and Jewish community leaders following today’s horrific terror attack in Boulder, CO after last week’s antisemitic shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum. Our hearts are broken but our resolve will not waver.

Great to join my friend, Mayor Mayor Monique Ashton, and the City of Rockville Human Rights Commission at a terrific Pride Event yesterday. In Rockville & Montgomery County, we’re committed to a community where all our residents can be who they are and love who they choose. #HappyPride

Yesterday’s ribbon-cutting for the new 6th District Montgomery County Department of Police Police Station was a proud step forward for public safety & a long time coming for the UpCounty. Grateful to the community for steadfast advocacy and to the City of Gaithersburg and private sector for the land donation.

Honored to join Montgomery Council and so many community leaders to celebrate #PrideMonth at the Progress Pride Flag raising ceremony today. Montgomery County remains committed to being a place where everyone in our community is seen, safe, and supported.

Attended the 3rd Annual Gen-Z Political Convention at Montgomery Blair High School this morning, where students in AP and Honors NSLA Government brought policy and politics to life! A truly amazing event that gives me so much hope for the future of our county and country.

Enjoyed stopping by the Friendship Heights Neighbors Network fundraiser yesterday at the Village Center. Grateful for all they do to build community and support older adults aging in place, and great to hear updates from Senator Chris Van Hollen and the D16 Delegation.
