Once again, I beseech you: Every single discussion of public sector pay - nurses, doctors, teachers etc - should include the value of public sector pensions. Compensation deferred remains compensation.

That is, *actual* public sector salaries are routinely at least 20% higher than they seem to be because of the value of employer (taxpayer-funded) pension contributions. Which are also, of course, much more generous then in the private sector.
