“Thinking styles” are my label for behavioral audience segments by context. A person might follow one thinking style in one circumstance and another in a different circumstance. Thinking styles can change over time and with experience.

Just FYI to all form designers 🙃“No, date input doesn’t necessarily require a calendar. For example, if the date is likely to be quite far in the past or the future (for example, date of birth), a regular numerical input is a good solution.” — Nick Babich uxplanet.org/date-picker-de…

Statements that you could use in almost any usability study findings report... I'll go first: "The datepicker was not intuitive and difficult to use. Recommend allowing people the option to type the date in the proper format." #UniversalGuidance #usability #accessibility

Digging the discussion in this thread. I'm feeling mixed about the hot take though since the expanded version likely has labels, and perhaps the collapsed version is intended for expert users who are both familiar with the tool/nav and want more workspace (would need to test)

Came across this little nugget of wisdom - “The speed the average visitor will recognize an icon’s meaning from the image alone is directly proportional to how quickly the team can decide on which icon to use.” Craig Kistler smallfarmdesign.com/blog/2009/12/2…

This year, I was fortunate to join the leadership team to shape our new design system—a milestone for any talented design org in hypergrowth. My love letter, in a thread: 7 ideas about design systems that have impressed me the most 🫠 1. Design systems are everybody’s business.

Struggling with depression does not mean that you’re flawed or weak. If you’re feeling like this, please talk to someone you trust and try to be open to seeking help. It can be scary to open up about something so personal, but you do not have to struggle alone 💙

One final shout out to those at Figma who brought the FigPals to life. Last week was that much better because we got to hang out with these little friends.
