Club face dispersion patterns can help identify strike tendencies and compare changes over time or across different situations/contexts (e.g., how does strike change when swinging harder than normal). A breakdown below

I created a chart that helps visualize "good" countermovement jump height performance (hands on hips) relative to data from competitive male golfers, based on body weight. The 1-10 score is based on net propulsive impulse, which can be estimated from jump height and weight

Two athletes that performed vertical jump testing at the start of each training session over several months. It’s an interesting insight into how short-term progress can be messy/noisy, but the progress is much clearer when you zoom out and look at the cumulative work done.

I’m always impressed by golfers that consistently perform across many years. So I decided to find some data from PGA Tour golfers that are still gaining strokes on the field 20+ years into their career. Visual 1: Strokes Gained Stats over time for the group

📄 Great to receive the news that Luke Robinson’s final PhD study has been accepted in Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research this morning. 🏌️‍♀️A genuinely big step forward for intervention-based research in golf — taking a case series approach. 🔗 Full text here: researchgate.net/publication/39….

Impact conditions determine ball flight. And golfers tend to have patterns or tendencies in terms of strike and club delivery. Being able to visualize how they deliver the club to the ball and where they strike the ball on the club face can be really useful. An example below

Since 1987, there have been only 4 seasons on the PGA TOUR where a golfer had a 20+ yard distance advantage while also hitting more than the average percentage of fairways. Three of those seasons were from early Tiger Woods (1997, 1999, 2000).
