The geographical spread of noma is increasing. We are now seeing cases come from states we previously do not see from.

To eradicate noma disease, we need to: 1. Increase surveillance on noma disease. 2. Increase access to health care in communities especially in rural village - both access to services and manpower. 3. Include oral health into primary health care as well as train HCW.

One of the highlight of 2023 is the landmark announcement of noma being included in WHO NTD list. With this, the spotlight and attention which noma deserves will be give to it. There will be scaled up activities from all stakeholders responding to noma disease.
