Careless debris burning is the #1 cause of wildfires in Texas. It is intentionally burning vegetation or waste materials. To prevent debris burning from causing wildfires, you should follow local regulations and guidelines (burn permits, containment, etc.) for outdoor burning.

✈️It’s #NationalAviationDay! We began using airplanes in 1943. Now we rely on planes and drones for wildfire spotting and response as well as forest health monitoring. This year, we have dropped 501,531 gallons of water and fire retardant in our wildfire response efforts.
