Does anyone believe Rittenhouse would be released if he were Muslim & did the same thing in a diff context? For people who say “systemic racism doesn’t exist,” this is what it looks like: protection of white supremacy baked deep into our carceral systems. Law and disorder.

I find it amusing when politicians try to diminish the seriousness of our policy work, movement organizing & grassroots fundraising to “she just tweets,” as though “serious” politics is only done by begging corporate CEOs for money through wax-sealed envelopes delivered by raven

The most alarming aspect of the unnecessary electronic monitor, is that legally innocent individuals in Cuyahoga County forced to wear them must pay an “involuntary leasing fee” of $56 per week. #BailReformNow cleveland.com/opinion/2019/0…

The President of the United States actually sat in the Oval Office and discussed the possibility of a military coup to change the outcome of the election he lost. Reflect on that.

11:29 AM Hilliard - "10TV is on 19 asking for somebody to talk to him about the protest" Hey 10TV, how about you talk to the protestors and the family of #CaseyGoodsonJr instead of the cops? If you want real, non-profit coverage of equity in Flavortown, try Matter News instead

It has been 130 years today since the massacre at #WoundedKnee. On Dec. 29, 1890, the U.S. Cavalry killed more than 250 Lakota men, women, & children. Twenty soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor for the attack. It remains a blood-soaked stain on the flag of this country.

Less than a month ago, a Franklin County Deputy Sheriff, w/o authority or reason to suspect any crimes, followed & killed a Black man in the back while he walked into his own home. That deputy is still employed with Franklin County Sheriff's Office. You know who’s not? (1/2)

The Jim Crow filibuster was used during the 1920s to block anti-lynching legislation. It was used in the 1960s to block civil rights legislation. It will be used in 2021 to block racial justice legislation. So y’all good with this⁉️👀

12:31 - Basically sounds like a couple of cops are staged calling out descriptions of anyone they've decided looks "dangerous" - real cute since they're the ones with guns and mace

Here’s how often each Columbus police officer used force against people from 2001-2018. Some used force at substantially higher rates. But how often were they held accountable? A thread. (1/x)

When the community rose up to exercise their First Amendment right to protest after the police shot a Black man in the back — in front of his children, police enabled white supremacist militia members. The result of this failure was bloodshed, the loss of lives, and trauma.

The judge. The jury. The defendant. It’s white supremacy in action. This system isn’t built to hold white supremacists accountable. It’s why Black and brown folks are brutalized and put in cages while white supremacist murderers walk free. I’m hurt. I’m angry. I’m heartbroken.
