More trees doing well that were planted by our wonderful volunteers over the winter! 🌳🌿🍃 These were planted on the banks of the afon Morwynion to help regeneration after fencing a river buffer strip as part of our river restoration work.

This Welsh Gov review covers much more than digestate. It will look at the regulation and enforcement of spreading of all organic materials on land in Wales. The objective is to identify how the current regulatory frameworks could be strengthened to improve river water quality.

Some GOOD NEWS for the #RiverWye➡️When it comes to the Wye, we've been focused in Wales. And in particular on weak regulation and enforcement around land spreading. A thread... 🧵

Excess sediment entering our rivers can cause many negative impacts on the river's wildlife 🐟🐟 Through our water wise farming programme, we installed this sediment trap in a field corner. This slows the flow of run off & allows sediment to settle out before entering the river.

Onsite in the Clwyd catchment! Repairing 400m of fencing and resurfacing a bridge to keep cattle out of the river. Plus creating, a woody brash revetment to protect the bank, reduce sediment, and create habitats for fish and invertebrates. These works are funded by @natreswales
