For those of us who study America's long war in Vietnam, the passing of two giants in the field is sad news. George Herring was the epitome of gentleman-scholar. John Prados was amiable & unceasingly curious. Both leave behind a legacy of scholarship & mentoring that will endure.

My dear father, #DanielEllsberg, died this morning June 16 at 1:24 a.m., four months after his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer. His family surrounded him as he took his last breath. He had no pain and died peacefully at home. commondreams.org/opinion/daniel…
