Our work is out as a preprint! Find out how centrosome regulation and Katanin-dependent severing are involved in the generation of a non-centrosomal microtubule array important for tube morphogenesis.

España me formó. 6 años en un instituto público, 5 años de Biología y un máster en la UAM y 5 años de doctorado en el CNIO. Gracias a las becas jamás pagué nada. Ahora que llegó el momento de devolver a la sociedad la inversión lo hago en el extranjero. #SinCienciaNoHayFuturo

Cryo-EM structure on multi-subunit complex TRAPPIII, a Rab1 GEF. A heroic (mostly solo) effort accomplished by a great colleague, friend, and mentor Antonio Galindo from the Munro lab @MRC_LMB! #CryoEM

1. Many of the most important papers in the history of biology are essentially "We have made a really cool observation that we don't really understand but here is a speculative model that might explain it". Such an approach stands 0% chance of getting funded or published in 2021.

Two papers from Helen Foster . Previously a technician, then PhD student in my lab. Now with Gaia Pigino (thank you for letting her finish these, Gaia!). Also thank you to @CamillaVenturaS for her brilliant contributions. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Amazing work from a truly fearless scientist! Very happy to see this story finally out and the very complicated structure of TRAPPIII in detail! Well done, Dr Galindo (& the other authors who also contributed of course)!

Proud to report that our work on adaptive optics for single-molecule localization was published today. With REALM, we resolved the BIV-spectrin periodic strucure in brain tissue at 50 um depth. Thanks for the great colab @naomihanemaayer! nature.com/articles/s4146…

The work I did using #Drosophila during my master's project has just hit bioRxiv. I learnt a lot this year, both in and out of the lab. The paper encourages thinking of axonal motor proteins in a new light: they are essential to maintain microtibules, thus axons themselves!

This has been an amazing journey during my PhD discovering the mysteries of this wonderful molecular machine called dynein! So glad to see this story finally out. And looking forward to hearing any feedback from all dynein & mitosis experts. May dynein always walk with you!

.David Salvador-Garcia, Simon Bullock & colleagues @MRC_LMB use genetics & biophysics to dissect dynein motor function. They link #Drosophila mutations to human disease & reveal a new role for dynein in cell division under specific load conditions. hubs.la/Q02F1QZf0
