This Mapuche trapelacucha is a later version which features a pin to attach it to the clothing of the wearer. Earlier examples were attached to metal collars worn around the neck. Often the silver used for these came from melted down or beaten silver coins.

Great day of museum de-colonising at #museums2022. Still lots to do but progress is being made. Loved #colonialcountryside and #PermissibleBeauty
