NiCl2 is a soft magnetic 2D material. Its magnetic anisotropy flips from in plane to out of plane at 0.6 T (XMCD). The nickelocene IETS splits when the NiCl2 is OOP, allowing map the splitting at 0.6 T as we ramp B, like in XMCD. Check it! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
