Johnny Mercer delivering the Government's statement of moving 8.5K Afghans out of bridging hotels, with 3 months notice (by April). Honestly, despite the massive issues with the delivery of this programme, you cannot deny Mercer's personal commitment as a veteran of Afghanistan

The government announced plans today to move Afghan people on from hotels, where they have been housed after being resettled from Afghanistan, into permanent accommodation. These are people who risked their lives working with UK and other armed forces in the country.

The APPG_AfghanWomenandGirls which I co-chair met this morning to discuss resettlement. Nobody wants to be stuck in a hotel, but the UK Government needs to be adequately flexible and take things like schooling and job opportunities into account.
