Preliminary data from the National Weather Service indicates that 150+ tornadoes were reported from April 25 to April 28. The weekend outbreak claimed at least 4 lives. From 2019 to 2023, Texas had the highest average annual count of tornadoes at 101.6. Oklahoma ranked fourth among states with 73.6.
According to the Council of Economic Advisers, #childcare prices rose nearly 3x as fast as the overall prices of goods and services from 1990–2019. In New York, California, Hawaii, and Nevada, families spent more than a fifth of their income on childcare from 2016–2018.
