1). Always have foreign body aspiration on the differential for respiratory distress/stridor.

Perfect example of you don’t know what you don’t know. You need a normal head CT (no increased ICP) before an LP. If meningitis or SAH are still on your differential and the CTH is normal then that means you do the LP lol.

I have a bunch of dual boarded EM/IM attendings, and what’s reassuring to me is when they work in the ED they work up patients identically to 95% of other EM docs (same threshold to admit, CT etc). The only difference I’ve noticed is they order more urine lytes. lol

The NLN/ANA support keeping clinical hour requirements this low? 500hrs is 2 months of med school rotations. Given NPs have independent practice rights in >50% of the country this is indefensibly low. Their rationale about this worsening nursing shortages is a stretch at best.
