My first 2024 read: Becky Nicolaides Becky Nicolaides's new book. This is an extensively researched study on the LA suburbs. It will definitely advance and contradict our outdated perception of suburbs, which are quite diverse. Plus, I'm honored to be cited in the South Gate chapter!

MLK's vision of the 'beloved community' was surprisingly unfolding in the suburbs-they became an unexpected incubator, a social petri dish, for seeing how integration was playing out in America. His ideal has much to offer suburbs dealing with diversification. Oxford Academic
