516 STRE (BP) had the privilege to take part in the Remembrance Parade yesterday through the streets of Beeston alongside our fellow teams from 66 Works Group RE #LestWeForget
Sgt Needham receiving his CRE Commendation for planning and executing his 516 STRE (BP) deployments to Putlos, Germany to train alongside our Bundeswehr partners. In order to develop a shared understanding in fuel infrastructure and equipment. Congratulations. Corps of Royal Engineers
The Group have been further developing #marksmanship skills in the past week, from basic shooting principles up to fire team strength fire and manoeuvre. This will enable our #sappers to maintain a high state of #readiness for future Ops. Corps of Royal Engineers #followthesapper #ubique
How do you practice building Joint Operational Fuel Systems without all the time and cost building Joint Operational Fuel Systems? Some of our fitters have been in Chatham this week 1 RSME Regiment to learn how to 3D print so we can build better models to enhance future training.
While we love training on our specialist capabilities, Corps of Royal Engineers have an enduring love of building bridges. So it was great to visit AECOM and their cable stayed bridge model to revise and apply basic structural engineering principles with other members of 66 Works Group RE
Time to get the MEXE ready! 17 Regiment RLC are supporting #FuelsPlus with their reconfigurable raft - the MEXE Flote. Here we see the MEXE getting fitted out to operate in the SSPS role with a capstan, hydraulics, chutes and rollers to handle the subsea hoses.
Boats and Hoses! This is one of the moments that everything comes together. A Crane Op 36 Engineer Regiment lifting subsea hoses onto the cradle, 516 STRE (BP) and attachments from 9 Regiment RLC and 521STRE (WD) reeling them off and Mariners from 17 Regiment RLC towing them out #TEGEngrGp #FuelsPlus
MEXE time again. This is what the 17 Regiment RLC MEXE looks like once fitted out to handle hoses. With hoses brought out, the next step will be for 516stre and attachments from 36 Engineer Regiment 9 Regiment RLC and 521STRE (WD) to join them together. #TEGEngrGp #FuelsPlus
Making connections. #FuelsPlus has been all about this and not just connecting @516stre with attachments from 36 Engineer Regiment 9 Regiment RLC 17 Regiment RLC and 521STRE (WD). Here we see work done to uncover and clean the hose ends, fit new seals and hydraulically press fit the connections.
Feeling imensely proud of the members of 66 Works Group RE and 36 Engineer Regiment, deployed on #FuelsPlus, who worked closely with local Cypriot emergency teams to protect communities when major wildfires broke out across the island. Read more about it here: gov.uk/government/new…
