Testing magnets!🧲

On Friday, we finished our Magnets and Forces topic by exploring which items are magnetic and what happens when two similar or opposite poles come together on a magnet.

Today Dr Liam Herringshaw came in to introduce our new topic all about rocks. We got to look at lots of different types of rocks.

We have a very special visitor in school today to teach us all about life in the Roman army.

We are focussing on Escape from Pompeii in writing. Today we acted out the key scenes from the story in preparation to write them down.

The children are looking at notation in music today. We are writing out the notes to help us read the music for our glockenspiels today.

Today we loaded up with our coats, bags and PE kits and practised marching as Roman soldiers. We carried our things and pretended it was our equipment and we marched in formation. We also practised our ‘testudo’ formation! Dex, sin, dex, sin, dex, sin…

To finish our topic we had a final debate - Were the Romans Rotten? Both teams did very well at presenting their evidence.
