Online discussion of what low carbon options people have invested in. A lot of misinformation out there! Also people limited by being tenants. I have chipped in about e-bikes, to balance out the EV hype and plug the more energy efficient, cheaper, congestion-busting option.

So according to some online commenters 16 year olds shouldn’t be cycling in case they take undue risks. But 17 year olds can drive cars, can't take away drivers freedoms. Okeydoke.

Was talking with someone about food waste and climate change. They were emphasising the carbon cost of cheese and butter is high so don’t waste it. Today the local Sainsbury’s got so hot they had to shut off the fridges and freezers and dispose of all the chilled and frozen food!

One question in council meeting about why no cycle parking at Ranmoor Shops. Apparently councillor been trying to get some there for yesrs. Another question about why council meetings don’t have cycle parking. Because there aren't venues with it. Stuck with no progress.

Also some curious points about speed limits. Councillors want lower speeds, some kind of comment from police about hard to enforce, officers say this means “police veto the lower limit”. Could we all seel consensus that reducing limits makes for safer streets?

Thing that annoys me about this is it drags out the achingly slow area by area rollout of 20 mph and crowds out other measures to make neighbourhood roads safer, they hardly get considered.

Piloted a new tandem with a new stoker today. I was so nervous and wobbly at the start, but overall I am pleased to say we had an enjoyable ride in the sunshine!

Saw this in a chronic illness group and thought it was an interesting and helpful take. “Recovery is a journey, and for some it can be lifelong. You aren’t failing if you are still sick. You are on a journey to recovery.”

Makes me wonder which U.K. politicians could ride out the death threats and angry sentiment to achieve these kind of gains within 2 years?

Put my lunch in the microwave 3 hours ago and only just remembered I haven't eaten it yet. It'll be ok if I heat it up again, right?

Small video clip from a trip to “special melted products” factory. Part of me is disappointed not to see any cheese. I really hope cheese toasties are a lunch staple there.

Bullet points. A great way of communicating multiple things. But some readers of bullet points think, “This is just from GenAI so I will downgrade what you are saying”.

Raised my disagreement about inaccessible locations being used as polling stations. And polling stations without any cycle parking. The council needs to demand better.

Reading some lengthy online conversations about the NHS App- functionality contested, most people not happy, calls for it to be tailorable all things for all people. Contrasting with the HMRC app, which is one of their tools but not the only front door.

This lack of money if only “Missing In Action” when others in the unit saw the person die is really cruel. Surely a 0% loan that does not need to be repaid if declared dead would be fair on dependents of those killed in war? liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool…

When you mistake the training dataset for real data… three times in a row… and almost CAUSE NUCLEAR WAR! on.ft.com/3J9CakB

I used to think there was quite a large agglomeration of vintage shops in Sheffield around Division/West/Carver Streets. It seems to be spreading - bunch in Broomhill and HOTC too. The Sheffashion equivalent to sustainable Sheffood group?

Stuck in a doom loop once again of Recaptcha refusing to believe that I am human. No alternative service to input what I need so I am excluded from a process as a result. Not cool. But also so worn down by this that I will probably go elsewhere rather than complain.

Pushed child on the zip line back and forth while running. Then went on swing. An hour later I still feel nauseous. I can't do dizzy anymore, it isn't fun. I am officially old.
