Dear Biomechanics Community, The special issue of @CurrentProtocol in Biomechanics is now inviting protocol papers in all sub-fields of biomechanics. Please help spread the word and we look forward to seeing your submissions! w/ Jeremy Petravicz, Ph.D. โฆrentprotocols.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/19โฆ

Congrats to Kurtlab grad student Em Triolo ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ for receiving an honorable mention for their NSF GRFP application!

See how your brain moves in 3D as your heart beats ๐๐ง . Our collab. team published 2-part series at Brain Multiphysics and MRM to introduce 3D amplified MRI (w/ Stevens Institute of Technology Matai Stanford Engineering University of Auckland | Waipapa Taumata Rau @BMEIISinai) sciencedirect.com/science/articlโฆ onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/mrโฆ

We compiled an extensive list of fellowships and conference funds targeting increased participation of LGBTQ+ students in STEM w/ Em Triolo ๐ณ๏ธโ๐. Please help distribute and let us know if you know of any other opportunities that should be added to our list! kurtlab.com/pride

In ๐ง๐ช, 10,000 #cyclists are injured in accidents every year. A #helmet helps to prevent #head injuries, but it could be better. Andrea Menichetti studies how much our brain can deform before getting injured as to develop even safer helmets ๐ด๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐ง ๐ฅ sciencefiguredout.be/protecting-braโฆ #safety

Congratulations to Kurtlab graduate student Javid Javid Abderezaei who won the best PhD Level presentation award in Injury Biomechanics at #SB3C2021 SB3C Organizers! So proud of you Javid! ๐ฅณ

Our review article evaluating the effectiveness of bicycle helmets during impacts is now published in Frontiers - Bioengineering and Biotechnology. Our findings demonstrate the importance of developing new technologies and impact testing standards for better prevention of brain injuries. frontiersin.org/articles/10.33โฆ

A huge thanks to all the organizers SB3C Organizers for an amazing #SB3C2022 experience! See you all next year ๐๐ผ Ya-Chen Chuang Em Triolo ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
