Fascinating keynote lecture at CREgyptology by Dr Margaret Maitland, with tonnes of food for thought on colonialism, the display and presentation of museum collections, and the visibility of traditionally ignored ancient and modern Egyptians!

Great opening keynote of Dr Margaret Maitland at the conference on poverty in ancient Egypt and ancient Near East at Austrian Academy of Sciences I am especially glad that Egyptologists in Vienna had the opportunity to see how inequality is studied informed by social theory, a great lack in Austria.
