Less than a week after regrouping to support small business owners after a historic flood, Region AHEAD has raised more than $300,000 in money and pledges and opened its portal for recovery grant applications.

Region A.H.E.A.D. was created during the COVID-19 pandemic to help small businesses impacted by the shutdown. It was launched again, this time to raise money and grant opportunities for small businesses impacted by flooding. trib.al/fTL3HNC

Another round of grants totaling $125,000 have been issued to 13 additional small businesses impacted by the September flooding by Region AHEAD The latest round brings financial support to a total of 41 businesses in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia from $561,000.

Region AHEAD has shared checks with 41 small businesses for their flood recovery thus far in the region. With a final push toward soliciting donations for the recovery fund, the organization has set a deadline for small business owners to submit their grant applications.
