Had an incredible staff PD led by our literacy team. Teachers created textual lineages of impactful books, music , and poetry that shaped their lives. We learned about each other’s collective history and identity and why this is important to do with our students. #HRL Dr. Jennifer Reed
Summer reading got even more powerful! Captivated by "Fix Injustice, Not Kids," Gorski & Swallwell's book on high-impact equity leadership. Bringing reimagined policies, just access, joy, and sustainability to our leadership team convos this week. Paul Gorski | Equity Literacy Institute Katy Swalwell

We are lucky to get to work with Bryan Tompkins at US Fish and Wildlife to help us transform our empty spaces into vibrant sanctuaries for pollinators. This was a great hands on experience that teaches our students about environmental stewardship. Im thankful for this partnership!
Had a great launch to our #JoyfulJohnston Institute! Started the day with a poverty simulation from Just Economics WNC , then led a training to enhance our work in historically responsive literacy. Special guest Dr. Rob Jackson shared some words of wisdom to kick off our new year!
