Iceland has been more ‘ice’ than ‘fire’ so far.

Geo thermal power station at Hellisheidarbirkjun learning about the clean and sustainable solution Iceland has found to meet its power and hot water needs.

From local delicacies of ‘pickled herring’ to observing Icelandic half-price ‘cream bun’ day - Öskugdur (Ash day) and even eating our plentiful packed lunches sitting in the snow. We have been spoiled with lots of of fabulous food for all tastes.

Stunning scenery and perfect snow conditions for our students on Day 4. They are gaining confidence, developing their ski skills and having a lot of fun.

Another exhilarating day today exploring more of the ski resort area. Lots of stories over dinner this evening of spectacular wipeouts and extraordinary exploits. Students are nominating each other for the various awards of the day which are given out by staff.

We went to the local tenpin bowling alley yesterday evening. A varied range of style and technique was on show, with three of the students scoring over 100 points.

Presentation of skiing proficiency certificates by our instructors from the École de Ski Français at the end of a wonderful week. Following a fish and chip supper we had a presentation evening of awards to students by staff in our hotel with some creative award categories.
