Roughly 10 years ago, I had supper with a few friends & quite a large number of people I didn’t know, & one man brought his fiancée who suffered from severe coprolalia (a form of Tourette’s, where your brain makes you involuntarily blurt out inappropriate & offensive things.)

I have to point out how there’s very obvious neo Nazis trying to agitate black people in this Tourette’s conversation because they see this as an opportunity to erode the stigma around n*gger by saying that black people are too emotional to reason with

I've only been paying attention to the degree I have for the past five years or so and in that time there have been so many fucking movements where everyone is like "oh no, I came up with this all on my own!" and they're clearly being co-ordinated internationally

It's honestly a little on the nose that BAFTA superficially celebrated Black and disabled stories while doing nothing to materially support those communities, ultimately leaving those communities behind and fueling further division. The ultimate metaphor for neoliberalism.

Hockey is such a beautiful sport but men’s hockey culture is wretched and straight up evil. Playing in that environment literally made me fall out of love with the sport I dreamt every night about.

Feel like I’m going insane because this idea that women should just stop watching all men’s sports is so goofy to me. Like yeah segregating sports fandoms based on gender is surely what we need to bring about progress and equality!

While I personally agree, the dehumanizing nature of the world makes it more complex than the example used imo. While he is under no obligation to apologize, the harmed caused by that language is real regardless. I can understand some of the frustration

Pitting two marginalised groups against each other distracted from the broader conversation around their omission of Free Palestine.

USA women’s hockey win and partying with flavor flav got everyone getting into woho but everyone on the tl becoming frost or fleet fans… at what cost

USA's 2026 Olympic women's hockey team was incredible by every measure, and are clearly the most dominant American roster ever assembled, on the men's or women's side. It's how this team deserves to be remembered. thehockeynews.com/womens/interna…

i think two things are happening here and are both true 1. it's ridiculous to pretend the solution to misogyny in the nhl is for women to be driven out of the fanbase 2. the larger unwillingness of nhl fans to engage in women's hockey is also misogynistic and part of the problem
