I was honored to have spoken at the Candlelight Vigil for Democracy in remembrance of Rep. John Lewis tonight. It was great to see Sen. Jose Rodriguez and Rep. Beto O’Rourke again. Let’s always remember to get into good and necessary trouble!

The weather was perfect for the San Lorenzo Catholic Church Fiesta in Clint! The danzas were beautiful and the food was delicious! It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves!

I am happy to announce that the El Conquistador and Lourdes Estates communities will now be connected to sewer as a result of the County’s partnership with the LVWD! This means that close to 100 families will no longer have to rely on septic tanks for sewer service!

Congratulations El Paso for winning the Kraft Hockeyville award! Today, the County Coliseum hosted an awesome NHL preseason game between the Dallas Stars and the Arizona Coyotes. If you haven’t had a chance to catch an El Paso Rhinos hockey game at the Coliseum, you should!

It was wonderful to be able to welcome our seniors back to the Fabens Senior Center! Thank you to the Community Services Department for working hard to open our county centers while keeping our seniors safe! And it was great to meet Fabens’ biggest Cowboys fan, Mr. Ontiveros!

It was great to see so many people at the Art Market in San Elizario yesterday! The vendors had so many beautiful items and I can’t wait until the next one! I’m glad I also had time to make a quick stop at Bodega Loya on my way home. The fresh mint and cilantro were amazing!

It was so much fun throwing out the first pitch as we start the 2022 Summer Baseball and Softball Season at the El Paso County Sportspark! A special thank you to Mathew, who taught me how to throw the ball, and to Gustavo, who caught every crazy ball I threw!

Congratulations to the Socorro Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading squads for the recognitions they received for overall sportsmanship, top high school, and best overall team at this year’s UTEP Cheer Camp!

I was very happy to have been able to deliver school supplies to the students at Escontrias Elementary School in Socorro today along with City Rep. Rudy Cruz, who brought pizza to the students! Thank you teachers and administrators at Escontrias for letting stop by today!

Congratulations to Emergency Services Dist. #1 on their new Tiller 401 fire truck, which has a 700 ft. ladder and is the only truck of its kind in the Southwest! Thank you Chief Menéndez and everyone at the Horizon Fire Dep. for everything that you do to keep our community safe!

I am very excited to have filed the paperwork to run for re-election for El Paso County Commissioner! I am so happy that Abigail is home from UT and was able to be here! Eddie, Abigail and Rebekah have been with me every time I have filed and I couldn’t do it without them!
