According to recent #UMNresearch from U of MN Rural Health, nearly half of rural transgender adults say they don't get support from their families, which has negative health implications. UMN School of Public Health minnpost.com/other-nonprofi…

Troubling over how to balance conflict between family wishes and what feels like the right thing for the resident in long-term care settings.

Opposition to student debt relief is a perfect example of toxic individualism and the erosion of Americans’ ability to grasp SYSTEMIC problems as being about anything other than individual choice. The concept of society is dead. #CancelStudentDebt

Wake Forest costs like $70,000/year now (not including room and board). When I applied there in 1993 the cost was like $13,000/year. If you're over 40 and against #CancelStudentDebt you might wanna think about whether your "hard work" would've paid off 5 times as much tuition.

Health insurance is wild. You pay every month for years, decades, in case something catastrophic happens. Then it does and the insurers are like yeah no not THAT kind of catastrophe.

Come to think of it, why should Americans who do not drive pave YOUR roads? Why should Americans w/o businesses pay for PPP loans? Why should Americans w/o tornadoes pay for others' damages? Why should Americans pay YOUR salary? #CancelStudentDebt

The healthcare system in the United States has no redeeming qualities. Change my mind. #healthcare #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #HealthInsurance

MAGA: Canceling student loans is immoral. This is why we need a Govt based on the Bible Deuteronomy 15: “At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. This is how: Every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made.” MAGA: Not that part of the Bible #CancelStudentDebt

Having an IUD inserted was one of the most painful experiences of my life. Worse than recovery from abdominal surgery. Worse than kidney stones. Worse than my adult tonsillectomy. They told me I “might experience some mild discomfort” and recommend OTC pain killers.

Not me casually crying ofer this short film about a crochet dinosaur. Love. Loss. Sacrifice. Unraveling. And helping to put someone who has fallen apart back together. The most moving thing I’ve seen in a while. youtu.be/VBps1IvCyj0

#dopesick is well worth the watch. Nothing many of us haven’t already known but it personalizes these issues beautifully. I’m all for #opiate use where appropriate but #bigpharma and money in medicine are among the biggest evils of our time. Dopesick On Hulu

Is there anyone currently working in healthcare that isn’t often overwhelmed and frustrated? What’s your secret? Am I wrong that frustration just comes with the territory of giving a shit about providing quality patient care?

Health insurance companies should have a 100% disapproval rating, but there’s always that one guy in the comments who’s like actually it’s good and fair that United Healthcare made 5.2 billion last quarter.
