"Let’s also make sure working parents can afford to raise a family with sick days, paid family and medical leave, and affordable child care that will enable millions more people to go to work." -Pres. Biden #sotu2023 #StateofChildCare #CareCantWait 👏👏👏👏

Years of organizing just made it possible for us to hear President Donald J. Trump name addressing #TheStateofChildCare as a top priority along with #PaidLeave and Child Tax Credit #CTC. 💪🏿 Proud of this effort and excited for what’s to come! #SOTU #CareCantWait

Child care - it’s the #SOTU issue the *Secretary of Commerce* chose to call out ⤵️ because #childcare is the work that makes all other work happen. #sotu2023 #SolveChildCare #CareCantWait

What I will remember most from #SOTU23 is the image of the parents of Tyre Nichols, RowVaughn and Rodney Wells, & the words of the President having to say “our children have the right to come home safely.” Extrajudicial killings by police reinforce racial inequality.

“Not only is our tolerance for poverty high, our labor market's ability to reduce it has limits.” Note especially the populations Under 18, Female, Black, Hispanic, and No High School.

Where are the workers? Women’s labor force participation rate lags the rate for men by 11%+. Available childcare can reduce barriers to work, improve employment equity, and achieve economic security. Addiction is a coping mechanism and a way we attempt to soothe our nervous system. Here's a compassionate (and honest) way to think about addiction:

"How equitable our growth is, depends on how well we answer the call of working families for child care." True in every community in Ohio and around the nation.

No one company can solve America’s child care challenge alone, but new federal incentives mean semiconductor manufacturers can be a key part of the solution. Read our report with MaryBethTesta ⤵️

The clock is ticking for federal policymakers to #SaveChildCare by approving $16 billion in emergency funding to help Ohio’s children and families. #GWMomentum
