Those bats move in huge colonies, covering the entire sky. They're very big even though they're up in the sky. They fly from Oba's Palace, Oba's Market, Ring Road, extending to GRA. Anytime I see them, I wonder where they're coming from and where they're going.

2025 should be a year where the identity of Akoko Edo is respected. Akoko Edo is the oldest local govt in Edo State, it is not a Yoruba tribe..it is purely a combination of Igala, Ebira, Benin, Etsako and Esan. Merge into different communities.

TRINITY πŸ”± Things that never happened. Yaribas/Yorubas are perpetual liars. That Oranmiyan and Afelogiyan conquest is a fragment of your sordid imagination. Yoruba didn't influence Benin culture, tradition, and lexicon. Heck, the original yorubas at the time were the Oyo people...

The Truth - Ika language is classified as Igboid ,but it is a language so complex that it has elements of others such as Edoid ( Esan,Benin ) Igboid & Yoruboid ( via Igala ) This book says Owa dialect &Ika is an interplay of Edo earliest inhabitants & Igbo settlers

I still can’t believe this level of incompetence and irresponsibility laced with total lack of regard for all those affected. This can only happen in a country where there are no consequences for actions! We as a people have become so comfortable with accepting rubbish!!!

The account on Great Benin quoted by Ryder, popularised by that pop history BBC piece, was the one Pinto gave to Francesco da Monteleone. Pinto also gave another Capuchin, Bonaventura da Brescia, a similar one (with extra details) before the city was sacked a few years later
