Good! A pied-à-terre tax isn't a cash grab, it's to disincentivize empty buildings owned by foreign investors driving up home prices and contributing nothing to the neighborhood. If they're allowed to do this, they should at least be offsetting the drain on our community.

People who buy a property in NYC as a second home or investment property are taking housing off the market, driving up prices, and not contributing to the local economy. Of course there should be a disincentive tax on that.
