Why are we on all out strike week 8. That’s pretty serious and we’re serious people. Does anyone at the Scottish Govt know what’s happening here? Nicola’s story is the tip of the redundancy iceberg. Public money - £96million treated like a private fiefdom. Accountability anyone?

Scottish college Principal's can earn more than First Minister UK Prime Minister California Oaks Golf Principal Paul Little +£215k remuneration package was more than both Humza Yousaf & Rishi Sunak yet CoGC looking to shed 100+ jobs College Employers Scotland don't seem to have a graph for that. Wonder why?

Fantastic joint picket with EISFela & UNISON Scotland colleagues Edinburgh College yesterday as both unions demand a fair fully funded pay rise that! We were also joined by teacher colleagues from the Edinburgh Local Association! #unityisstrength #fairpay #fairwork

The more you watch this video the more upsetting & enraging it gets! Fundamentally the entire notion that redundancy is required at our City of Glasgow College & Edinburgh College is wrong but the tactics & processes used by management were outrageous & flawed in the extreme!

We know the Board of Governors have approved the sacking of staff but a question that must also be asked of both Boards is do you approve of how the managements City of Glasgow College & Edinburgh College are behaving as they sack/sacked staff & union reps? #fightingforFE

By your own admission here, we are public sector workers - so why are there compulsory redundancies when the Scottish government says no CRs for public sector workers.....?

🙉 Senior management sucking our sector dry. 👀 Look at the total they took out of 1 college last year. City of Glasgow @Eiscogc 👨‍⚕️ This is without the private health care costs added! ✂️ They are trying to cut 175 jobs. Cut the lecturers in a college - great idea.

🚨Rolling Strike Action 🚨 FELA members will walk out at UHI Inverness and West Lothian College today. The Scottish Government must hold College Employers Scotland to account and facilitate a fully funded and fair pay award that does not result in job losses.

The current pay offer, despite the spin from College Employers Scotland, has been forecasted to cost "potentially" over 400 lecturing jobs. ✂️ Every lecturing job lost is a cut to course provision and learning opportunities for students. ✂️ We will not trade jobs for pay. ✊

Colleges are in crisis and our employers seem more committed to union busting than resolving this dispute. CES need to be upfront with the public on the job losses linked to their current pay offer. The Scottish Government must intervene and facilitate a resolution swiftly.

The Scottish Government has what it says is an ambitious reform agenda for the FE sector. Meaningful reform will take significant buy in from lecturing staff. They must hold CES and college leaders to account and facilitate a fully funded and fair pay award that secures jobs.

🚨 Last chance to vote 🚨 Following the refusal of College Employers Scotland to extend our existing mandate, we have been running a statutory re-ballot. There's still time to vote YES to ASOS and Strike Action before this Thursday.⏰📨 We will not trade jobs for pay.✊

College Employers Scotland and college Principals need to bin the spin and commit to ending this dispute. 🗑️ Their current pay offer would cost "potentially" over 400 lecturing jobs. ✂️ We will not trade jobs for pay.✊

Delaying a pay award for more than a year and then making an offer forecasted to cost "potentially" over 400 lecturing jobs is simply unacceptable. We remain open to a negotiated settlement but the message is clear: We will not trade jobs for pay.

EISFela (@eisfela) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We've said it before but for the avoidance of doubt we will say it again: A pay offer that could result in potentially over 400 lecturing job losses is simply unacceptable. ❌ We will never ask our members to sacrifice livelihoods for a substandard pay award. ✊ Bin the spin🗑️
