Glad to see ECH gaining adoption. It should not be the business of telcos and ISPs to know which websites you are visiting even when they're secured via https. blog.cloudflare.com/new-standards/

Whenever I hear calls for greater censorship, I am reminded of this quote from a 25 year old video game: "Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master."

What happens when society-wide preference falsification unwinds in a sudden cascade, from the work of Timur Kuran, explained by Professor Claude: Preference falsification occurs when people publicly express preferences that differ from their private beliefs due to social,

Not just X but nearly every American tech company is locked out of China. Right now the situation is completely unbalanced where Chinese tech firms can access American markets but the inverse isn't allowed. This needs to change.

Coming soon: When you add a linked device (Desktop or iPad), bring your whole chat history + last 45 days of media. The transfer process is end-to-end encrypted & completely optional. Don't want to leave the past behind? We leave you to your own devices. signal.org/blog/a-synchro…

This is really important. If the UK forces a global backdoor into Apple’s security, it will make everyone in every country less safe. One country’s secret order risks putting all of us in danger and it should be stopped.

There is no secure backdoor for encryption. Encryption can be either secure or it can be backdoored. It cannot be both at once.

We at Signal just announced an upgrade to our cryptography to further protect messages against quantum computing: signal.org/blog/spqr/

In 2023, Signal was the first mainstream messenger to enable post-quantum cryptography. We’re still ahead of the (elliptical) curve, implementing a new hybrid PQ ratchet ensuring Forward Secrecy & Post-Compromise Security even in a post-quantum world. signal.org/blog/spqr/

Hi!✌️Personally, I’m not a fan of vibes-based trust. First VERIFY, then trust, is my motto. Which is why Signal is open source. We want everyone to be able to inspect our code, and our encryption protocol, and see for themselves the lengths we go to to protect your comms and

This is exactly correct about Telegram. You cannot end-to-end encrypt Telegram group chats. Most 1-1 Telegram chats are not using the optional end-to-end encryption. The messages are stored on servers operated by Telegram. It is not a private messaging platform.

This is self-evidently true. All this progress in generative AI, and not a single serious piece of culture other than slop shorts. All this 10x vibe coding, and not a single new compelling consumer app. Techies do this all the time: confusing being Gutenberg with being
