Totally baffling . A clearly identified staffing crisis. Everyone wringing hands peering into the horizon for the non existent cavalry of new senior doctors to appear. Yet also an enormous pool of highly skilled, experienced & autonomous doctors being under utilised & held back.

What a bold idea.... Just imagine what might be possible.....

After months of negotiations to reach an improved offer, the SAS committee has accepted the offer on behalf of members. Eligible BMA SAS doctor members delivered a clear YES vote in the referendum, voting 79.3% (turnout 61.1%) to accept the offer. bma.org.uk/saspay

A reminder of the troubling facts below,on the day MWF publicly endorse #SASsix having included it in their manifesto a few days ago.

A medical workforce crisis, where we have doctors who can't find jobs, doctors who can't progress their careers, and doctors leaving for other shores. It is absurd, isn't it?

When even the SOS for Health fails to acknowledge the existence of Specialist Doctors. There's no wonder this can feel exhausting at times. #SASbychoice

Indeed. I don't blame the doctors for giving up, it is important to protect and look after ourselves and sadly sometimes this means giving up. But it is a massive failing on the part of wider organisations, and quite honestly a travesty given the state of medical workforce.
