This hits hard.

I've never revealed this but this happened to my parents all those years ago....

And I moved school multiple times as a result. And I could never understand why.

And now I understand why, it hurts again. The impact is immeasurable.

Please, for the sake of NHS, do not treat your international workforce so badly.

Imagine starting a new job in a foreign country & on the first day of the job you are told that the job you applied for isn't there anymore & you need to do another job or leave.

A fantastic week.

Monday we offered SAS colleagues with senior leadership role ambition/potential 1:1 coaching for leadership to secure it.

Friday is our Pathfinder event for healthcare leaders and senior SAS doctors who wish to mentor SAS colleagues into leadership.

Meetings on workforce should probably be based on data. Have a graph. The most rapidly rising group in the medical workforce is locally-employed doctors.

These doctors are on non-standard, non-national, non-permanent contracts, in a workforce crisis.

What are we doing?

SAS folk; do any of you grieve the career you could have had? Eating away at me right now and seems eternal. Grateful for any advice.

Danny is one of the NHS' finest. Singapore's gain will be our loss.

I will miss having a good friend in the same timezone and on the same island, but will loudly cheer his success and new adventure

His thoughts are earnest and should be food for thought for many

Danny is one of our best. Singaporeโ€™s gain is our loss.

We will be sad to see him go.

And we will celebrate him as loudly as we can.

Had a great course on education with Royal College of Anaesthetists. One of the best thing was how many SAS were on the course - on the past Iโ€™ve felt a bit lonely. Also a reminder of how many SAS are educators amongst other roles
