EFASOM coalition member, the Union of Schools in Benadir region organised a panel discussion on the role of private education in policy planning and implementation. The forum took place today in Mogadishu.

Yesterday the Batch 4 of the Digital Advocacy Skills Training in Baidoa, SouthWest, 26-27-28 May 2024 was concluded successfully. A total of 25 participants benefited the training sessions.

Batch 5 Advocacy Digital Skills Training (29-30 May and 1st June 2024) has started today in Baidoa, SouthWest State of Somalia.

Today EFASOM paid a courtesy visit to the office of SONAD, our strategic member. We discussed the importance of advocating the right to education for deaf children with special needs and the introduction of Somali sign language.

Batch 5 of 18 advocacy digital skills trainings that continued from 29-30 May and 1st June 2024 ended today in Baidoa, South West State of Somalia. A total of 27 participants benefited it.

Today #EFASOM successfully completed a 3-day face-to-face advocacy #digital skills training batch 6 of 18 from 4-6Jun2024 where a total of 29 trainees from the civil society (#CSOs) participated. This project was funded by #GIZ/#BMZ Germany thru Global Campaign for #Education.

In Bardhere District in Southern Somalia, children at grade 8 taking a boat to the other side of the district to take their final examination at grade (8). This is because of climate change as the bridge of Bardhere district collapsed due to floods that wept it away last year.

EFASOM yesterday concluded its General Assembly, commemorating 19 years since 2006. As part of it, a new Board was elected to succeed the outgoing members, honored with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedicated service.§

Thanks to GPE/Oxfam De under EOL project, EFASOM & Iftin Foundation awarded certificates of participation to 30 members of the civil society after completing a two-day training on Policy Influencing and Transparency in Education, held from 20–21 April 2025 in Mogadishu, Somalia.
