This is great! Non-trivial investment of time for coding/fabrication-naive biologist, but probably easy for engineering student. What if we asked engineering depts for an undergrad assts to implement this, as a project, extra credit, or work study? x.com/theosanderson/…

ten years ago, Ramesh Jasti took some of us Molecular Foundry people to see The Avett Brothers in SF. Great concert, been fun to watch both rise since Listening to the Avett Brothers and Thinking About Extreme Musical Honesty newyorker.com/culture/cultur…

Really cool paper Oliveira Lab, Martinho Lab. Would inhibiting Aurora B (chemically or by RNAi) would also suppress the SAN phenotype? Were CPC genes tested in the RNAi screen? Didn't see them in supplement. biorxiv.org/content/early/…

Zhou et al Cell 2018, "Circuit Design Features of a Stable Two-Cell System" 10.1016/j.cell.2018.01.015. Neat paper (always enjoy papers with Uri Alon) Figure S3D reminds me of Homestar Runner 2003

On a more serious note, "Circuit Design Features of a Stable Two-Cell System" makes me wonder how coculturing macrophages with fibroblasts (or epithelium) would affect bacterial infection experiments 10.1016/j.cell.2018.01.015

home to undergrad, 374 miles to grad school, 2510 to first postdoc, 3420 to second postdoc, 3340 last three moves following Laurel MacKenzie. I've loved every place I've lived, but it's been hard being so far from family for so long, and leaving friends with each move

My first review is out in this week's issue of Science (!) on the past, present & future of chemical dimerizers in biology and medicine. Amazing experience writing with Ben Stanton. We hope you'll read, share & enjoy! sciencemag science.sciencemag.org/content/359/63…
