Once you realize that delivering a presentation isn’t just about sharing your knowledge, you almost have no choice but to start by thinking about what the audience needs.

"Before I wrap this up with the take home points, let's see if there are any quesitons out there." It helps to have someone in the audience preselected to 'prime the pump' with a question in case there's silence when you open up QA.

I cannot think of a single time where involving a clinical pharmacist in the care of a patient didn’t improve care and teach me something. Like, I really can’t. #randomappreciation

I care about whether my positions are true (map closest to reality) rather than if they are held by the majority. The majority can be right or wrong. It's an argument from popularity. I want to believe in as many true things & as few false things as possible. Matt Dillahunty

Twenty years ago, the acceptance rate at colleges of pharmacy was in the low 30% range. Last year, it was 87%. Meanwhile, the number of pharmacy colleges has more than tripled, while the number of applicants is down almost 40% from its peak 10 years ago.

I don’t ever want to work in an ICU without a clinical pharmacist. Their contributions to patient care and to learners of all kinds are invaluable.

Burnout is, unfortunately, still a very relevant crisis in our profession. We thought it was worth sharing this excellent piece from Megan Rech, PharmD, MS PharmD, MS, CCM, FCCP, BCCCP - "I love clinical pharmacy practice . . . and had to leave it": bit.ly/4b9EUIm
