Good piece, but as a historical ecologist I would like to add: humans do not just either stay within boundaries or destroy nature. It's often been a positive, dynamic human-nature symbiosis, with humans actively shaping and creating forests & biodiversity theguardian.com/environment/20…
It was great hosting Dr. Peter Sutoris's at Goldsmiths Anthropology last week. Both paper and discussion were really stimulating - Peter is using ethnographic research so effectively to move education/activism conversations forward. And I loved this last slide!
