I would agree with those that note UConn was vulnerable. I remember they needed some favorable whistles to get past 16-seeded UAlbany in the 1st round. But a good conversation piece on levels of shock.

Before watching Xavier/ Pitt, I was re-watching Missouri/ Princeton... And I'm impressed how, in the first half, Princeton was actually just toying with Missouri. Mizzou looked like an overmatched 12-seed (or the last 5 minutes of Drake).

The presence of Clingan changed the shot from Logan Johnson... mostly because Johnson was overly worried. Short-armed a fairly clean looking shot.

Saint Mary's may be in the lead, but they are struggling to get good looks, taking step back threes, and missing a lot of shots short.

Saint Mary's looks like crap on offense and is 2 of their last 11. But they're still on top, which maybe says something [negative] about UConn.

Saint Mary's is really dedicated to getting the ball inside in this game... and UConn is really dedicated to getting them off the line. The Gaels offense looks like it's in a vise, it'll be interesting to see how SMC adjusts.

All the UConn starters had negative +/- splits, for what it's worth. Donovan Clingan was +8. SMC's Wessels was -11.

Mitchell Saxen needs to get the sticky stuff on his hands. Flubbed a couple of possessions there in the last few minutes, and Saint Mary can't afford to just not score for long stretches. 46-40 UConn in the lead here in Storrs North aka Albany.

UConn is on an 11-2 run and leads 48-40 at the U12, 11:57 to play. No joke, this is one of the loudest sports environments I've ever been in.

Down 8, Saint Mary's played an offensive possession like they were worried or trying to bleed clock. Turned down a decent, though contested, three for a harder look in the paint.

I don't think UConn will lose this, but the guards are clearly trying to tear the roof off this mother with threes. But they're missing.

These poor Northern Californians had to endure seeing snow for THIS? (Saint Mary's is proverbially gasping for air. And yes, there was a dusting of snow on the ground in Albany this morning.)
