Just finished printing the Chain Link Klein Bottle by DaveMakesStuff . I'll admit, this one is challenging. Even with two 120mm chamber part cooling fans and dropping hotend temp to 185C the undersides of the links on overhangs could be improved. thangs.com/designer/DaveM…

My car vent mounted phone cradle broke today. In its defense I think it was 10+ years old, and the original vent hooks were thin to begin with. So I took some dimensions, spent about 1hr in Onshape by PTC and after some 3D printing... it's back in action.

Time for today’s installment of practical 3D printing (and reverse engineering). Sure, Amazon has them for $7.99 shipped next day. But it is more fun standing out at the mailbox with measuring tools. At a minimum it's a good conversation starter with the neighbors walking by :)

A Note to @AmazonStudios: There’s a massive and devoted group of Constant Readers that would enthusiastically support a Mike Flanagan version of Stephen King’s THE DARK TOWER through five seasons (or eight) and love it every step of the way. Please make it happen.

I recently joined Tom and Stefan on "The Meltzone" to talk about the state of #opensource and Marlin Firmware. It was a great conversation and it was a lot of fun to hang out with two guys who really know and love this technology. #3Dprinting #RepRap youtu.be/4aMo5IyVeu0

A coworker asked me to 3d print him some command strip disc golf wall mounts. I designed an Inside mount that makes 3 points of contact... and an Outside mount that cradles the disc. I don't disk golf... anyone who does would you provide some feedback on which might be better?

If anyone wants one of the two models for the disc golf wall mount displays I designed for a coworker, I put them out on Printables. The native Onshape by PTC files links are in the printables descriptions. printables.com/model/583736-d… printables.com/model/583674-d…

That explains why the shopvac on my CNC wouldn't turn off. In its defense it lives a hard life... and gets run well above the intended duty cycle. I may be a hobby horder... I had the exact replacement switch I needed in my electronics miscellaneous drawer from scavenged items.

Some coworkers wanted a modified version of the single edge razor scraper I use (original design by Walter Hsiao). So I designed a revised one for them with the added features they wanted. printables.com/model/638048-s…

Here are the files for the yearly customized Christmas ornament present I make for my family members... just in case anyone wants to make some ornaments for your family members as well. Easy to customize with a name and the year. printables.com/model/651482-v…

I got a jam/filament-miss-feed today in my P1S AMS. Turned out to be a wedged magnet in the AMS internal filament hub at the "filament presence" hall effect sensor. The AMS is great... but at times I really wish they made is bottom accessible with an access panel for repair.

When you need to print something on your big printer because it doesn't fit on the Bambu P1S... And you remember just how much bigger it really is.

I haven't posted here very much for some time. To be honest, I have never felt the same sense of community connection here as I did in the G+ days. So, I am trying one of the other platforms, same handle. So I bid you Adieu here. I wish you all well.
