Medieval studies conference excitement is a fire alarm going off in the dorm the night before the conference, when we were all locked in our rooms frantically trying to finish our papers!

Annual medieval conference tradition: attempt to approach the cute baby geese. Then bond with new medievalist friends when you find yourselves fleeing together from the angrily hissing mother geese!

Me, rejoicing in the prayer schedule for the Transitus of St Benedict: Yesssssss! With all due reverence for our holy father Benedict, I would kill him off every day to sleep 90 more minutes! Friends: Probably exactly what his monks said before trying to assassinate him, tbh...

Episcopalians! There is a Yemeni coffee place (Haraz) just a short walk from the convention center, and this is the best thing that has happened to me in a year. If you have never had Yemeni coffee or pastries, I strongly endorse both (more strongly than any resolution!) #gc81
