I had a campus visit at New College last year, and while the duress was visible on students and faculty members faces, this level of dismantling of the institution's standards this quickly is shocking. Solidarity with the great folks still at New College.

Also at the faculty meeting: Rancourt telling the faculty to keep disagreements in house because it is making the college look bad which is hurting admissions.

The regime is getting desperate to "prove" their scheme is working. 70+ spring admits, most with middling to low GPAs, to make up for the # of students who left. Churning students to maintain the mirage of growing enrollment is unethical. No one wins in this scenario.

This is sad. I feel for the students and the staff. This is the state we live in Florida. These orgs worked to make students accepted and successful while they are on campus. There are so many real dangers in this world that being afraid of a student center is pathetic.
