To go farther back, the original Cross Keys was historic Black enclave on Falls Rd above Cold Spring. A few wood frame houses remain. But most of community was condemned & demo'ed to build Poly/Western. Roughly same time Rouse bought adjacent golf course to build his Cross Keys.
